Weight Loss Therapy Nottingham

weight loss therapy nottinghamIf you are looking for weight loss therapy Nottingham then our clinics are the leading specialists in the East Midlands if not the country. For many years we successfully ran a weight loss hypnotherapy clinic in Harley Street in Central London and have seen thousands of clients who have needed help with their weight. Even though each of our clients is different there are a number of common issues that can create problems with food.

Parents and Family – Most of the people that we see have had problems with food since their childhoods. Every time we see a client they tell us a similar story. That they have always been overweight, they have no control over food and that they have tried everything to resolve the problem. As hypnotherapists we hear the same heartbreaking story again and again but the reality if that not everything our clients say is actually true. In particular that they have always been overweight.

In our sessions we use regression hypnosis to take our clients back through their memories to the time when the problem began. For many this is likely to have happened when they were between the ages of four and seven although it can begin later. Very few children are likely to have been overweight when they were two or three. This is because a child of that age is able to take or leave food because they have more interesting things they want to be doing such as playing. That means that people who consider themselves to be naturally overweight are actually nothing of the sort.

Negative eating patterns are more often than not created by family. Ever been forced to eat a food you didn’t like or finish everything on your plate before leaving the table? This is one classic example of how a problem can start. A recent client of mine was forced to eat liver that she hated as a child. In the end she refused to eat it but was then served it at the next meal and then the next. The child started to feel hungry so would sneak into the fridge to get something behind the parents back. This gave the child a feeling that they had got one over on their parents and had won. So began a life long problem with food.

Emotions – When we are emotional we may use food to distract ourselves from negative feelings that we would prefer not to experience. The emotions could be anything from guilt to upset to anxiety or anger. I will demonstrate how an eating problem can again be experienced because of emotions linked to childhood.

Imagine that your parents have a volatile marriage and then when you were young the parents would often have arguments in front of the child. The child would feel scared and upset with what they were seeing hearing and need to feel comforted. In some of these children food may become this source of comfort to help them forget about what they were seeing.

Diets – Dieting makes you fat! People are praised for going on diets or finding ways to lose weight but the reality is that the diet is often the thing that is creating the problem in the first place. Our weight loss hypnosis therapy Nottingham sees hundreds of people who are binge eaters or even bulimics and their problem is created by dieting. The more they try and restrict the calories the more deprived they feel. They may be able to restrict the food for a short period of time but eventually the mind feels it is being starved of what it wants and will eat ten times more of it in case they are deprived again.

Our Weight loss therapy Nottingham clinic works with clients to understand the root causes of the problems that they may be experiencing. We try and get to the bottom of the emotions and patterns that our clients are experiencing so that they can find a new positive approach to eating. We never place our clients on a diet because we know that this will only want them to eat more. Instead we help them break behaviours and find a more balanced approach to eating.
